Last Friday was her last day of school and they had a special program of some of their favorite songs and other things they had learned. Novia was particularly proud to have memorized the pledge of allegiance to the United States and counting to 10 in spanish.
It’s hard to believe that Novia’s first year of school has come and gone. Though she was almost 5, Novia missed the age cut-off for Kindergarten last year, so we enrolled her in a preschool instead. It was definitely the right decision. She thrived, learning under her teachers and loved every social aspect of it too. It was fun to hear about what she was learning and important things her teachers were telling her, even if she missed the main point and we loved listening to her talk about her friends at school, specifically, Naomi, Roberta and Nadya. When I think about it, the school year went insanely fast, and yes, I know I was insanely busy with three other children, but really… it seems like yesterday that I was dropping Novia off at school for the first day.
Colt and daddy, happily waiting for Novia’s program to start.
Papa, Gammy and Audri were three other guests who came to celebrate the accomplishment of Novia’s preschool year.
Novia’s teacher, Mrs Jeanne, leading the class in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Novia was the oldest in her class, but she was definitely the smallest. Her personality and talkative nature, however, made up for that and then some.
Novia and her sweet friend Roberta. I have been in love with Roberta’s hair and the fun different ways that her mom styles it from day one. Her mom is a sweet lady too.
Novia and her friend, Nadya.
Naomi, Novia and Nadya… three sweet friends.
The happy graduate with Papa and Grammy.
One decent family shot amid many not so good ones. I love how both Audri and Colt are looking at Novia. It was a fun day to celebrate our oldest lovey girl.
What a difference a year of school makes! She just isn’t so little any more. Kindergarten here she comes!
